About the NFL Wide Receiver Builder
What would happen if you could combine the best traits of NFL wide receivers into one player? That's the idea behind the NFL Wide Receiver Builder on 84-0. You'll face a series of random players and choose one attribute from each, gradually putting together your own custom receiver. Once the build is complete, you can simulate a full 17-game season and see how your creation performs.
The challenge is that you never know which player will appear next. You might get Randy Moss's speed early, find an elite route runner later, or have to decide whether to keep a good option when there's a chance that the next spin could be even better.
How does the NFL Wide Receiver Builder work?
Each round gives you a randomly selected NFL wide receiver and a set of attributes to choose from. You can keep exactly one stat from each player before moving on to the next selection.
You'll get ten spins to complete your receiver, along with three passes that let you reject a selection when the available options aren't right for your build. Using those passes wisely can be important, especially when you reach a selection where none of the available traits fit what your player needs.
What wide receiver attributes can you choose?
The available traits cover different parts of playing the position, including hands, routes, speed, yards after catch and other skills that influence how your receiver performs.
Because every trait comes from a real NFL player, your final creation can combine completely different styles. You could pair the deep speed of a legendary receiver with elite hands and route running, or focus on creating a player who can consistently make plays after the catch.
What happens after you finish your receiver?
Once you've selected all ten attributes, your custom wide receiver is ready for the season simulation. You can run a full 17-game NFL season and see how many catches, yards and touchdowns your creation produces.
The overall rating is only part of the challenge. A well-balanced receiver may perform better in the simulation than a player who simply has a high rating in one area.
Can I compare my receiver with other players?
Yes. Completed builds can be saved to the global leaderboard, where you can compare your results with other 84-0 players.
You can compete using both the Current Era and All-Time player pools, with separate leaderboards for each. That gives you another reason to experiment with different strategies and try to improve your best result.
You can also generate a shareable player card and send your creation to friends.
Can you break the NFL receiving record?
That's one of the biggest challenges in the game. Your custom receiver gets a full 17-game season to chase historic numbers, including Calvin Johnson's 1,964 receiving yards.
There isn't a guaranteed formula for breaking the record because every run starts with different players and different choices. A great result depends on building a receiver with the right combination of traits and making smart decisions throughout the ten selections.
