About the NFL 1v1 Game

Think you can outdraft another football fan? The NFL 1v1 game puts you directly against a live opponent where every selection can change the matchup. You're not simply trying to collect the biggest names you're building a roster while taking away options from the person drafting against you.

Each matchup gives you a new franchise and era to work with, so the available players can change every time you play. Once someone takes a player, that player is off the board for the other side. That makes every pick a mix of roster building, timing and reading your opponent.

How does the NFL 1v1 snake draft work?

You have 11 roster spots to fill: quarterback, running back, two wide receivers, tight end, offensive line, two defensive linemen, linebacker and two defensive backs. Players slot into their respective positions as you draft them.

The draft uses a snake format, so the order reverses between rounds. Getting the first selection gives you access to the board first, but your opponent gets an opportunity to make consecutive picks afterward.

That makes the middle of the draft particularly important. You need to think about what you want and what your opponent is likely to take next.

How do you win an NFL 1v1 draft?

The highest-rated player isn't always the best pick.

If your opponent still needs a quarterback and only one elite option remains, taking that player could be more valuable than upgrading a position where you already have a strong starter.

You also need to build both sides of the ball. A dominant offense won't help much if your defense has major weaknesses, and loading up on defenders can leave your offense without enough firepower.

The best players aren't simply drafting stars. They're denying value while creating it for their own roster.

Do franchise and era selections affect the draft?

Yes. You get one franchise redraw and one era redraw for the entire roster.

That gives you some control over the player pool, but you have to decide when a redraw is actually worth using. A different franchise might open up better options, while changing the era can completely alter the players available.

Don't burn a redraw simply because the first option isn't perfect. Sometimes the board you're given is better than the board you're hoping for.

What happens after I draft my NFL team?

Once both rosters are complete, the teams enter the season simulation.

Your quarterback drives the offense, while your front seven and secondary determine the strength of your defense. The completed rosters then play through the simulated season, with the better record taking the matchup.

That's where the draft gets its final test. A roster that looks unbeatable on paper still has to perform as a complete team.

Can I compete on the NFL 1v1 leaderboard?

Yes. Ranked matches use an Elo rating system, allowing you to climb or drop depending on your results against other players. The global leaderboard gives you a way to see how your drafting ability compares with the 84-0 community.

Play again, experiment with different approaches and try to build a record that puts you near the top.

What's the secret to winning?

There isn't one perfect strategy.

Sometimes taking the superstar is obvious. Other times, removing the player your opponent desperately needs is the smarter move.

Watch which positions are running out of elite options, think at least one pick ahead and don't forget that you're constructing an entire two-way roster.

You're not trying to draft the 11 best NFL players. You're trying to draft the 11 players that can beat the 11 players sitting across from you.
