About the NFL Quarterback Builder
What would happen if you could put the best qualities of NFL quarterbacks into one player? That's the challenge behind the NFL Quarterback Builder on 84-0. You'll spin for different quarterbacks, choose one attribute from each, and gradually create your own custom QB. When the build is finished, you can send him through a full 17-game season and find out whether your choices can produce an elite statistical year.
The difficult part is that you can't plan every move in advance. One spin might give you an incredible arm, while the next could offer better accuracy, mobility or football IQ. You have to decide which strengths are worth keeping and which ones are worth passing on.
How does the NFL Quarterback Builder work?
Each round presents a randomly selected quarterback with a collection of attributes. You can keep exactly one attribute before moving to the next player.
There are ten selections in total, giving you ten chances to shape your quarterback. You also have three passes, so you can reject an option when the available choices don't fit the direction of your build.
The trick is knowing when to settle and when to take a risk. A strong early option can be tempting, but saving a pass for a weak area later could make a bigger difference to the finished player.
What QB attributes can you choose?
Your quarterback is built from several skills that influence how he performs. These can include accuracy, arm strength, mobility, football IQ and other traits that separate different styles of NFL quarterbacks.
That's what makes the combinations interesting. You could create a quarterback with a cannon for an arm and elite accuracy, pair mobility with high football IQ, or try to build someone who has no obvious weakness.
What happens after you finish your quarterback?
Once all ten attributes have been selected, your custom QB enters a 17-game NFL season simulation.
You'll get to see how your creation performs over the course of the season, including statistics such as passing yards and touchdowns. A quarterback who looks dominant on the ratings screen still has to produce when the simulated games begin.
The goal isn't simply to create the highest-rated player. It's to find a combination of traits that can translate into an exceptional season.
Can I compare my QB with other players?
Yes. Your completed quarterback can be saved to the global leaderboard and compared with other builds created by 84-0 players.
You can compete in both the Current Era and All-Time pools, giving you different player pools and another reason to experiment with your strategy.
Once you've created a quarterback you're proud of, you can also generate a shareable player card and challenge your friends to build something better.
Can you break Peyton Manning's passing record?
That's one of the biggest challenges in the game. Your quarterback gets a full 17-game season to chase historic numbers, including Peyton Manning's 5,477 passing yards, the NFL single-season record.
There isn't a guaranteed recipe for getting there. Every run gives you different players and different choices, so you'll need the right combination of skills, smart use of your passes and a little luck.
Build your QB, run the season and see how close you can get to one of the greatest passing seasons in NFL history.
